Procrastinators Rejoice: Hotel Deals Save the (Valentine’s) Day

With Valentine’s Day just a week away, procrastinating Romeos and Juliets still have time to book a Romantic Escape package at any of 10 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels in the greater New York metropolitan area.

The package includes one night’s accommodations, a bottle of sparkling white wine, a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, according to Janelle Schwartz, vice president of sales, marketing and revenue management for M&R Hotel Management, which operates the hotels.

Participating hotels include the Holiday Inn NYC – Lower East Side, Holiday Inn New York City – Times Square, Holiday Inn Staten Island, Holiday Inn New York JFK Airport Area, Holiday Inn L.I. City – Manhattan View, Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West, Holiday Inn Express Staten Island West, Holiday Inn Express New York JFK Airport Area, Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia Airport and Holiday Inn Express Roslyn – Manhasset Area.

All of the hotels provide deluxe bedding, premium bed and bath amenities, complimentary internet service, fitness centers, in-room Keurig coffee makers, 32-inch flat-screen TVs with premium channels, USA Today newspaper and 10 IHG Rewards Club points for every dollar spent on each stay.

The Holiday Inn Express hotels additionally provide a complimentary Express Start breakfast bar featuring scrambled eggs, pancakes, biscuits, bacon and sausage, yogurt, gourmet coffee, tea and the brand’s signature cinnamon rolls. The Holiday Inn hotels also feature grab-and-go stores that offer frequently requested amenities and snacks.

M&R Appoints Area General Manager for Two JFK-Area Hotels

Z. B. Moham, Area General Manager of the 73-room Days Inn Jamaica - JFK Airport and the 87-room Best Western JFK Airport HotelM&R Hotel Management today announced the appointment of Z.B. Moham, a 25-year lodging veteran, as area general manager to oversee two of its four hotels near John F. Kennedy International Airport: the 73-room Days Inn Jamaica – JFK Airport and the 87-room Best Western JFK Airport Hotel.

In this role, Moham oversees operations, sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting for the two hotels.

Prior to joining M&R, Moham was area general manager for the Best Western Plus Seaport Inn Downtown and The Gem Hotel SoHo, both in Lower Manhattan. From 2005 to 2006, he was general manager of the Best Western Plus Seaport Inn. He was assistant general manager of the former DoubleTree by Hilton JFK from 2002-2004 before being promoted to general manager in 2004.

Earlier in his career, Moham served in increasingly responsible front desk positions at the Ramada Plaza Hotel LaGuardia Airport in Queens and, starting in 1992, the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel New York City − Times Square and The Kimberly, A Boutique Suite Hotel, both in Manhattan.

“Z.B.’s broad experience as a general manager, including at a number of airport hotels, makes him well-qualified to assume his new role at two of our properties at JFK,” said Brian M. McSherry M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer.

Moham studied at Hunter College and Vaughn College, both in New York. He is certified in food safety protection, boiler operations and fire safety.

M&R Hotel Management Names Manager of LaGuardia Airport Hotel

M&R Hotel ManagementEldin Elezovic, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia Airport today announced the appointment of Eldin Elezovic as general manager of the Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia Airport hotel, located on Horace Harding Expressway in Flushing, New York.

Elezovic, a 16-year hospitality industry veteran who has served in hotel management roles in Manhattan as well as Queens, will oversee all aspects of the 84-room hotel’s operations, including sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting. An expansion project, currently underway for completion this year, will bring the guest room total to 119.

Elezovic most recently was director of operations at the Flatiron Hotel in Manhattan’s Flatiron district. From 2008 to 2015, he was in charge of a limited-service hotel portfolio at LaGuardia, and served the Crowne Plaza at John F. Kennedy International Airport from 2007 to 2008, first as director of operations and subsequently as assistant general manager.

From 2005 to 2007 he worked at the Radisson Hotel Martinique near Manhattan’s Herald Square, first as director of guest services and then as director of operations. From 2000 to 2005, he was front office manager at the Holiday Inn New York City-Midtown-57th St. hotel, also in Manhattan.

“Eldin’s depth of experience in the New York hotel market, including at hotels at both LaGuardia and Kennedy airports, makes him well qualified to lead the team as general manager at our LaGuardia property,” said Brian M. McSherry, M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer.

Elezovic earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and international business at the City University of New York and is studying for a graduate degree in organizational leadership at Nyack College in New York. He speaks Bosnian, Spanish and Russian in addition to English.

Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, New York.

Sanchez-Toro, a 17-year hospitality industry veteran who has managed hotels in New York, Connecticut, Florida and Wisconsin, oversees all aspects of the hotel’s operations including sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting.

He most recently served M&R Hotel Management as assistant general manager of the Holiday Inn L.I. City – Manhattan View in Long Island City, New York. Prior to joining M&R, he was director of rooms at the former Holiday Inn North Haven Hotel in Connecticut from 2008 to 2012 and front office manager at the Connecticut Grand Hotel in Waterbury, Connecticut, from 2006 to 2007.

Sanchez-Toro took a two-year leave from the hotel industry to serve Carnival Cruise Lines as embarkation staff supervisor in Miami, Florida, from 2004-2005. Earlier in his career, he was guest services manager at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and assistant front office manager of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, in Wisconsin.

“Danny Sanchez-Toro’s years of experience working in hotels, including in managerial positions at Holiday Inn hotels, qualifies him to manage our Holiday Inn Express New York JFK Airport,” said Brian M. McSherry, M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer.

Sanchez-Toro earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and rhetorical studies at Marquette University, Milwaukee. He was certified in front office management by InterContinental Hotels Group, parent of the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Sanchez-Toro serves LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, as an adjunct instructor in its Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Management program.
